Uncompromising Quality
In many areas of life, the maintenance of a high safety level is crucial! Our goal is to deliver the highest quality in all our processes. This attitude ensures, all our employees are involved in a continuous improvement process.
Our Ultimate Goal: Your Satisfaction
Verified Quality
Safety is a top priority in the aerospace and defense industries in particular. Even the smallest errors in products or services can have far-reaching consequences. So the minimum requirements for the quality, safety and reliability of parts, systems and services along the entire supply chain are strict. Every company involved must take responsibility for its own actions and prove its compliance with quality standards.
RoHS Compliance
EU Directive 2011/65/EU restricts the use of specific hazardous substances in electrical and electronic appliances. It regulates the use and marketing of hazardous substances in electrical appliances and electronic components. Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS 2) replaced the previous directive 2002/95/EC (RoHS 1) on January 3, 2013.
This directive does not apply for:
a) Equipment which is necessary for the protection of the essential interest of the security of member states, including arms, munitions and war material intended for military purposes;
b) Equipment designed to be sent into space;
c) Equipment which is specifically designed to be installed as part of another type of equipment to which the RoHS Regulations do not apply, which can fulfil its function only if it is part of that equipment, and which can be replaced only by the same specifically designed equipment.
In order to support its customers and suppliers, Heilind has been committed to implementing this directive since its introduction in 2006.
In this context, we work closely with manufacturers to track all changes in products. Even if we have no influence on production, we provide our customers with all the information that we receive. Please note: Heilind is not authorized to make any statements on its own behalf concerning the conformity of the products. We depend on the information provided by the manufacturer.
No Conflict Resources
Heilind is conscious of the importance of this regulation for our international customers and those who operate globally in ensuring the peaceful, fair, sustainable use of the world’s resources.
Heilind Electronics GmbH does not purchase conflict minerals or their metal derivates directly from metal works or other sources in conflict regions. However, because of their properties, these metals are widely used in electronics manufacturing and are also found in the components and parts used by us for the manufacture of our products.
As far as possible and in cooperation with our suppliers, we are currently working on creating the necessary transparency which will allow us to provide our customers with reliable information.
At the present time, we have not found any indications of conflict minerals in our supply chain.
If, within the scope of our investigations, we find any indications of the presence of conflict materials in supplied parts, we undertake to proceed appropriately and actively to inform you of this.
Heilind is a Distributor of finished goods, not a manufacturer. As such, does not have influence over the Raw Materials used in the production of the products it provides its customers.
Heilind’s supplier list changes daily, and as such, our conflict minerals due diligence process of collecting smelter information from suppliers is ongoing. Heilind will continue to inquire with our supply base for pertinent information, and will update our RMI CMRT as new information is received.
REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization of Chemical substances)
Heilind Electronics is fully aware of the European Union adopted regulation on chemical substances, titled “Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals” (“REACH”), EC No. 1907/2006, as well as our responsibility under the legislation.
Heilind is a stocking distributor of connectors and electro-mechanical components; we do not purchase, manufacture, or sell any chemical substances or preparations. Further, products (articles) that we sell, in aggregate, do not contain sufficient quantity of any substance for which registration or notification, as defined by REACH regulations, would ever be required.
We are aware that we have certain responsibilities to pass information through the supply chain, and also aware that this specifically applies to the European Chemical Agency’s (ECHA) current list of chemicals identified as Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC). However, please be advised that REACH is not a product substance restriction requirement like RoHS, but rather a regulation that is designed to ensure substances have been properly evaluated, registered and the method of safe use effectively communicated to the end-user – in the EU.
Obviously, the actual composition of materials used to produce products we ship are controlled solely by the companies whose products we distribute, not by us. While we recognize the need and responsibility for reporting it, we can only forward substance data which is first provided to us. To that end, we are in constant communication with our principals regarding all current agency requirements, and results continue to show that few, if any, of the products we sell contain any SVHC over the specified threshold of 0.1% by weight.
Currently none of our vendors support analytical testing for SVHC, so the relevant information we receive is based on their knowledge of materials used in the finished products and information provided by third parties. While the assessment of materials necessary to provide written certification or material declarations has been completed by many of our vendors, information is almost always part specific, making it difficult or impossible to provide blanket certifications.
We make every effort to make comprehensive information available to our customers as promptly as possible, but once again, given the nature of the REACH directive, and where REACH is not a product substance restriction like RoHS, data has not been made widely available in usable form. Several of our principals provide relative information on their websites, but generally only on an individual part number basis.
Should there be a small number of specific items for which your company absolutely must have certification, it is usually possible to obtain individual product composition data sheets, but the compilation of this data is a time consuming and labor intensive process. Please be aware that, unfortunately, requests for more than a few at a time may incur extra expense to provide.
Finally, none of our vendors has reported, nor are we aware of, any condition covered by REACH regulations that would cause any interruption to our portion of the supply chain. If this were to change for any reason, you would be notified immediately. If you have any further questions or requirements, please do not hesitate to contact us.
